Submit an Event
If you have an event coming up that has entertainment value, you may have one free listing in the Reader. The listing will be printed the Thursday immediately prior to your event and will be posted on this website. Information about your event must be received by 5pm Friday, the week prior to publication.
Your information must include the following: a complete description of the event, the date, time, cost, the neighborhood and address where it will be held, a contact name and phone number in case we have questions, and a phone number, including the area code for our readers to call for more information. Your submission may be emailed, faxed or mailed to our Events Editor. We reserve the right to edit or refuse any listing due to inappropriate content or space limitations.

Submit an Article
The Reader is primarily interested in articles about the San Diego region, which we consider to include Imperial County and Baja California. Stories of national scope are rarely published. If a story idea has already received publicity in other local publications or news media, our interest is diminished.
We are not interested in receiving fiction, poetry, commentary, weekly columns, or critiques of film, theater or restaurants. We will consider articles that range from 1200 to 8000 words. Payment schedules vary. In most cases, once a story has been purchased, we will make the arrangements for a photographer or illustrator.
Email manuscripts to Reader.Manuscripts@gmail.com. Include your name, address, Social Security number, and phone number. The Reader no longer accepts paper manuscripts.
Subscription Information
If you would like the Reader sent to you, subscriptions are available as follows:
First-class is $175 for six months or $299 for one year. Third-class (mailed as Bound Printed Matter, BPM) is $65 for six months or $125 for one year. You may also request a single copy for $10. To request your subscription, send a check or money order along with a note that outlines your request and specifies your address. Mail to:
